Visiting Vandy
My friend Deanna called me on the way to class this morning because she realized it was the first science class she’s taken without me in over a year. Luckily, our separation anxiety will be put on hold this weekend when I drive to Vandy to see everyone!
Since Knoxville is less than 3 hours away from Nashville, road trips back and forth aren’t a huge deal. So this Friday, I plan on waking up early and doing some MCAT prep, hitting up Starbucks, and playing a book on tape while I drive to Nashville (I know that sounds really nerdy but a friend recommended them and it makes the time pass so much faster).
My friends are all done with class by 3 pm so we haven’t quite decided what to do right when I get there, but we’ll end up going out to dinner at one of our favorite places like Chuy’s or Café Coco. I’ve basically planned all my meals with different friends so I can catch up with the most people in the shortest amount of time. I’m definitely grabbing lunch with my friends from the Mayfield last year and on Sunday I’m getting brunch with my big and little from AOII.
I’ll be staying with my friends I mentioned in my Study Group blog, who live in a Towers double and have bunked their beds (which I can’t wait to see). Deanna has literally the biggest beanbag I’ve ever seen, which she lovingly calls “the sac,” and it has my name on it for this weekend.
At this point, we don’t really have any activities planned for the weekend but I don’t care what we end up doing because I just want to see everyone and hear all about their summers/classes/lives!
