A Final Video Chat
A couple of nights ago, Ashlin and I finished up our summer “book club” with a much-overdue Skype session and discussion of the end of The Shining. (read all about that endeavor here.)
As we chatted about the end of the book and about life in general, conversation turned to the start of the new school year and heading back to Nashville. We simultaneously realized how excited we are to make our respective treks to Vanderbilt in less than a week! It seems unreal that the summer is already over and that it’s nearly time for classes to start.
It occurred to me last night that I am running out of time to do my favorite California things: eat In-n-out, go to my favorite frozen yogurt shop, eat homemade Mexican food…you get the idea. (I’m not sorry that all of my favorite things are food-related). Anyways, actually talking about going back to Nashville made it all real, and as the days pass, I am more and more pumped for the semester to come, even though I’m going to miss being here in California.
My three friends and I have been furiously planning for moving into our Morgan House apartment in just a few days–living in a space with a kitchen, living room, and bathroom of our own feels a lot more like real-life than our Kissam singles from last year!
To sum it all up:
- Ashlin and I are very excited.
- I am cramming in quality California time these next few days.
- Only a few days till Nashville!
- Yay Morgan House!
