National Acclaim for Nashville’s Food Scene!
Check it out! The New York Times featured an article about local food in Nashville, or specifically East Nashville. I know I’ve blogged about the great food around campus…but Nashville has so much more to offer — and now NYT readers around the world know it too!
I haven’t been to all of the places mentioned in the article, so I’ll just share my bit…but I suggest checking them all out if you have time because they are definitely ALL on my Nashville bucket list.
Olive & Sinclair — I have had this chocolate because you can find it around campus from time to time. You can’t go wrong with their Salt & Pepper bar, but if you’re up for a bit of spice, try the Cinnamon Chili bar for a hint of Cayenne. Yum =)
Las Paletas — Perfect for a hot summer day, a cool fall afternoon, a winter treat, or a spring snack…Las Paletas are Mexican-style gourmet popsicles that brings FreezePops to shame. You can find limited flavors available at Fido’s, but for the whole selection you have to go east bound to the shop. I suggest their creamy Avocado bar! I may even go get one this afternoon.
Mas Tacos Por Favor — It used to be just a food truck, and now it’s a food truck AND a good ol’ shop. I had this guys once at a music festival in East Nashville and man were they good. I can’t do them justice though, so check out these reviews.
Pharmacy Burger Parlor — I HAVE NOT BEEN HERE. But, I heard this is a FANTASTIC place to go with friends, or better yet, get your dad to treat you because he’ll for sure LOVE the burgers here.
Nashville is famous for its music scene, but its food scene is on the rise! And there are many many many more places to go. Just drive around East Nashville and you’re sure to find a wonderfully delicious local restaurant hidden around the corner!
P.S. Check out this NYT article for other non-food suggestions!
