Sophomore Spring in Review
I have been home for just about four days. It has taken me this long to unpack and decompress from a whirlwind semester. Here is a recap of my Sophomore Spring:This semester, I took both Biology and Organic Chemistry, in order to finish my pre-med requirements. I passed them both and I am officially done with pre-med classes! All I have left is the MCAT, which I am taking this July (look for my next post for more on my study schedule). I am so close I can almost taste it!
I am also officially a major in Communications Studies. I have taken three of the core classes, but now that my pre-med core is done, I can focus on Communications and should be able to finish the major by the end of my junior year.
In athletics, the men’s basketball team hosted College GameDay before its game against the Kentucky Wildcats. They lost that one in a nail-biter, but got sweet revenge by defeating them in New Orleans to win the SEC Championship.
This semester, I tried to get involved on campus. I was appointed to the CityVU Committee on VPB. I get to plan all kinds of events focused on bringing Nashville to Vanderbilt. I also volunteered through Girls on the Run, where I served as a mentor and a running coach to middle school girls.
Every semester at Vanderbilt is better than the last. I cannot wait to see what’s in store for me when I return in the fall to start my junior year (where did the time go?!)
For now, I am home studying for the MCAT. How many more days until I get back to school?
