Jazzercise

This past Friday some of my Phi Lamb sisters along with some of our friends from Alpha Chi Omega went on an adventure to do Jazzercise over in Franklin! It was a great way to unwind after a rough academic week.

We left campus around 6 pm on Friday night and made the 20 minute drive to the Jazzercise center in Franklin. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Jazzercise, it is a workout that incorporates dancing, cardio, ab work, and strength training through the use of modern songs. Our workout lasted for about an hour and we danced to awesome music including LMFAO’s “Sexy and I know It,” Usher’s “Without You,” and a song by Pitbull that proved to be the group’s favorite! Several of my sisters go to Jazzercise several times a week, so they knew all the routines very well, which was helpful for me since I am probably one of the most uncoordinated people ever when it comes to dancing. Also, the instructors were awesome-they had so much energy and kept us laughing the whole time.

After Jazzercise we all felt great! I had no idea how much of a workout dancing for an hour could be. By the end of the workout we were all starving, so we headed over to Noodles & Co, which is in Cool Springs. I work at Noodles & Co when I am home for breaks, so I was excited to have Noodles since I haven’t been there since I last worked. While we were there we were all very amused by the fact that they had a touch screensoda machine… After we had dinner together, we all went our separate ways. Emily and two of our pledges decided to go to Pinkberry to get some frozen yogurt, which proved to be just what we needed after a tough workout!

Overall, I had a great time Jazzercising and laughing with my sisters. Jazzercise proved to be a fun, new experience and one that was only made more enjoyable based on the fact that I got to do it with some of my favorite girls!
