When Your Mom Visits (Part 1)…
This semester, I knew I wouldn’t be going home for quite some time because I would once again be going on a mission trip for Spring break. Thus, I was super excited when my mom found really cheap flight tickets and was able to come visit me! As a teacher, she had a week off in February, and so she came Nashville to visit and this also gave me a chance to get out of the Vanderbubble and explore the city some more! Here’s part 1 of some highlights from her visit:
The Container Store: One thing you should know about my mom and I is that we are both very very organized, to the point of being mildly OCD. When we discovered that Green Hills Mall has a store devoted to containers and organization, we were pretty excited. Note the joy on my face in the picture above. Note: The Container Store retweeted this picture after I tweeted it, and for a brief moment, I was twitter famous.
Burger Up: My mom and I had dinner here one night–it’s a really neat, trendy burger restaurant tucked away here in Nashville and the food was delicious!
The Frothy Monkey: This is a fantastic café that Taylor Swift is rumored to hang out at. We tried their Monkey Mocha, which is coffee, chocolate and banana. It was scrumptious.
PM Sushi: My mom and I both love sushi, so we decided to try out PM Sushi which is a short five minute drive from Vanderbilt. It was pretty tasty, but I’m still partial to Zumi which is both in walking distance and on the card.
That concludes part 1 of my mom’s visit–as you can probably see, we both love food. Hopefully I’ve given you some ideas of awesome places to check out when visiting Nashville, and stay tuned for part 2 which will certainly include more artsy pictures of our adventures and more delicious food.
