To New Beginnings
The first post into the life of Jae Maeng. This is my story.
Hello World, I am Jae Maeng, One of the newest members of Inside ‘Dores. This is my first post in what will hopefully become a window into my life through which all you prospective students will be able to see Vanderbilt from the eyes of a freshman.
Going back to the book analogy, like all good books, we must start with the biography, the intro. So….
Who am I? Like I said, I am Jae Maeng, I am a freshmen at Vanderbilt University (that was my first link so click it) in the College of Arts and Science. I am majoring in Undecided, so I have no idea what I will be doing in the future. I am pre-med so I could be going to Med School. Who knows?
Anyways, I’m from Nashville, Tennessee. But fun fact, I was born in South Korea and then grew up in Sydney, Australia for 9 years. I moved to Nashville the summer before my freshman year of high school and now, I am a student at Vanderbilt.
During my free time, I like to play soccer, swim, spend time with friends and watch sports. Speaking of sports, I support Manchester United, the Tennessee Titans, Tim Tebow, Maria Sharapova, and Nashville’s own minor league baseball team: The Sounds.
Now, a little bit about my Vanderbilt life. I live on the Commons because I wanted to get the college dorm experience just like everyone else instead of commuting, and I must say it was a great decision. Not because I’m “getting away” from my parents, but more because the whole living in a dorm is a completely new experience that I feel everyone needs to go through. So far, I have thoroughly been enjoying my “Commons Experience.” I live in Crawford House on the 6th floor with my guido roommate (we get along well) and my Vanderbilt experience could not have been any better.
I look forward to sharing my first year experiences with you all and I promise to keep you all entertained and informed about my life as I progress through the years at Vanderbilt University.
