Minute to Win It?
Last Wednesday afternoon, Victoria and I had quite the experience. InsideVandy, Vanderbilt’s student news source, has been hosting a contest on Twitter and in real life to win daily and weekly prizes, with the grand prize of an iPad 2!
For the contest, all you had to do was either reply to the daily questions on @InsideVandy’s twitter page or sign up physically in the VTV studio once a week (…I think. Both Victoria and I took the Twitter route.) Tuesday afternoon, we both received emails telling us that we had been selected to participate in VTV’s version of “Minute to Win It” for a chance to win the grand prize. Slightly nervous and incredibly thankful that we had each other there, we went to the VTV studio, entirely unaware of what we would be asked to for the show. If you’ve ever seen the show “Minute to Win It,” you’ll know that while the games seem incredibly simple, they are a LOT harder than they look. Some examples.
For the contest, we played four games: Puddle Jumper, Junk in the Trunk, Dizzy Mummy, and How’s it Hangin’. Personally, I am not the most coordinated/graceful person. (Who’d have thought, right? You would think soccer would require coordination. Apparently not this kind.) Anyways, this was forty minutes of awkward (yet fun) embarrassment, but both Victoria and I are extremely proud of ourselves for sucking up our chicken-like tendencies and braving “Minute to Win It” for our chance at an iPad 2 (or the monetary equivalent). Not that we won. Because we didn’t. Oh well.
And your reward for reading this post? This.
(Also, to our friends whom we did not tell about this entire experience…please don’t kill us, just be glad you can read about it and watch it now.)
