The Happiest Place on Earth?!
This past Friday was Vanderbilt’s Dance Marathon–a night where Vanderbilt students spend 13.1 hours on their feet in support of Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital. Each year as a part of Dance Marathon, there is a silent auction where all of the proceeds go to the Children’s Hospital as well.
A few days before Dance Marathon, my AOII sister Karissa told me that one of the items up for auction was 4 one-day park-hopper passes to DISNEY WORLD. (Now, this requires some back story–my friends Carly, Abby, Nick, and I are going to Florida (where Carly lives) for spring break this year. We had planned on going to whichever theme park was cheaper–Universal Studios or Disney World, and we’d decided that Universal was the way to go since we didn’t want to only go to one park at Disney World for the same price. And we wanted to go to Harry Potter World, of course.) We chose to pounce on the opportunity the auction presented and went to Dance Marathon to bid. AND WE WON. For the price of a single day, single park ticket to Universal Studios, WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!
Being from Southern California, I have been to Disneyland many, many times. It’s my favorite place in the whole world. So for me, Disney World is like the Holy Grail of amusement parks–and I’ve never been there, so you can expect a way-excited post about it during/after spring break. I hope my friends are ready for the insane six-year-old inside of me that is inevitably going to emerge the minute we get to the park.
So, on behalf of Carly, Abby, Nick, and especially myself, I would like to thank Vanderbilt’s Dance Marathon for literally helping make my dream come true.
