ESPN Gameday Parts 2 and 3
I was so exhausted between Gameday and the Vanderbilt-UK basketball game, that I didn’t have time to blog. I will give you a recap of my crazy Gameday experience:I woke up at 5:45 AM. No, the sun was not yet out and yes, it was the coldest day of the year. Sumner and I ran to Memorial Gym, where we flashed our wristbands and were given an awesome tie-dye t-shirt, which we were instructed to wear for the taping of Gameday.
Once inside the gym, we were provided with free doughnuts, posters and markers for sign-making, pom-poms and noisemakers. Taping did not begin until 9 AM, so Sumner and I made a few posters and chatted with our neighbors to pass the time.
This was my first time at a live taping of College Gameday and it was awesome! I love sports (as if it wasn’t obvious) and it was so cool to see some of my favorite sports broadcasters in person.
As soon as the taping ended, Sumner went back to her room to rest up before the big game. I, on the other hand, did not go back to sleep because I had to meet my parents, who were visiting for the weekend. (More on that later).
After spending a great, but exhausting, day with my parents, it was time to head back to Memorial for the game. Finally, I could watch the Commodores take on the top-ranked Kentucky Wild Cats.
Essentially, after an absolutely miserable first half, the Commodores managed to fight their way back and keep the game really close for majority of the second half. Kentucky ended up winning by six, but it was a thriller and I am so happy that I was there to see it!
