The Crazy Ones Will Change the World -R.I.P, Jobs
I was immensely inspired by the quote: “they (some people) leave the world a better place than they found it.” People may pass away, but the world will remember them forever because their impacts will continue to knock the hearts and to inspire other souls. These great people are a source of courage, a trigger of action, and a proud symbol of an era. Their spirits live on, even when they are gone.
It was the late afternoon of October 6th, when I settled in front of my desk and was about to search some good dining locations in Nashville, since a good dinner is always a great way to kick off the fall break. Once I clicked open a webpage, the first thing jumped in my eyes was a huge portrait of Steve Jobs in black and white. My brain didn’t react promptly to the meaning of the phrase “1955-2011”, but this overwhelmingly solemn page made me afraid of knowing what really was happening. I should be afraid. The end to a life was a concept equivalent to diving in a black hole.
I admire Steve Jobs not only because his exquisite products have made surviving the digital age whole lot easier, but his philosophy of life. He spoke on multiple occasions on the importance of FOLLOW YOUR HEART.
“Your time is limited; so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
Fear not, college is an institution that compels you to question who you really are and what you truly love. As time goes on, the voice that comes from the heart will only speak louder. You can either listen to it or cover up your ears. But you can feel things, so can you feel your own happiness.
Do not ever be embarrassed for your ideas, or afraid of others saying you aren’t a serious person. You could be the selected few “crazy ones”. You might as well have the power to ignite changes.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is to ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” –Think Different, Apple Ads
