Glee Party in Branscomb Lobby
Who says college students aren’t devoted Gleeks?
Yesterday was a big day for Gleeks campus wide! I know I rushed home from dinner– I even cutting short my trip to Pinkberry to get back to my room on time. I’ve been an avid Glee watcher for a while now (a.k.a. a “Gleek), so I was determined not to miss a minute of this season’s first episode.
As I walked into the lobby of my dorm at 6:45 PM, I was surprised by all the commotion at a time when most people are usually studying. In the Branscomb lobby, there is a TV that is constantly showing either movies or interesting TV shows, but last night there was a lot more activity than usual. All the couches were gathered around the TV creating a movie theater style setting!
I found my friend, who is a Resident Advisor (RA) living in Branscomb, and found out they were having a party to watch Glee! I’d never met guys who watch Glee before, but there were plenty of them sitting around, waiting for the show to start, mixing and mingling with other proclaimed Gleeks. Now that I think about it, it was probably the free food keeping them around…. The RA’s really went all out for this occasion: free slushies, a popcorn machine and even boxes of sandwiches catered from Jersey Mike’s subs!
I totally would have stayed to watch with everyone at the party, but I unfortunately had work to do and I have a comfy TV set up in my room. So, I grabbed a slushie, a bag of popcorn, and made a mental note to pay better attention to the bulletin boards that are all around campus for more information about future events, just like this Glee party! Somehow I totally missed these posters everywhere…
