Full Moon Pickin’ Party
This past Friday night, in celebration of the last full moon before Daylight Savings, I went to a Full Moon Pickin’ Party and dinner at The Loveless Cafe. The event is at the Equestrian Barn, which is part of the Warner Park system. Before the Pickin’ Party, since we were out on Highway 100, we decided to dine at The Loveless Cafe. I have blogged about Loveless before, but it’s absolutely a must visit! The biscuits are award-winning, (I ate 4), but the real food is also amazing. It’s the perfect Southern Comfort food. My friends and I were totally stuffed after dinner, but we made out way up the road to the Pickin’ Party.
The idea of the event is to celebrate music, friends and food. There are two main bluegrass bands that ‘headline’ the event, but guests are invited (actually, encouraged with reduced admission) to bring their bluegrass instruments. As the night went on, more and more pick-up bands formed, each with others crowding around singing and dancing to their songs.
The Pickin’ Party was a family affair. Most people were there with their young kids and dogs. I went with five of my friends and we had the greatest time.
Here’s to a typical Friday night in Nashville.
