The Mayfield Experience
I’ve lived in Mayfield 6 for a week now and it’s definitely…interesting.
Pros: I’m never lonely. There’s always at least one other person in the house who’ll play Wii Mario Kart with me (we’ve even gotten some of the guys to play Just Dance). We’re also super close to Quiznos, which is one of the better eateries on campus. Not to mention the Rec Center is right across the road, so the convenience has forced me to work out.
Cons: I’m never alone. My friend Victoria and I love whenever marching band has rehearsal because we get the house (and peace and quiet) for a few hours. Don’t get me wrong, the guys I live with are great, but they are some of the loudest human beings I’ve ever heard. That combined with the thin walls of the Mayfield make it a little difficult to go to sleep or concentrate on homework sometimes.
As you can probably tell, I’m adjusting to my new living situation. I’m still really glad that I’m in a Mayfield because I enjoy being so close to my friends, but it’s been a little more distracting than I expected. Good thing I recently invested in a good pair of headphones/ear plugs.
