More Thoughts on Summer, College…
I just told y’all all about my high school, and how special it is, and how much I love it. In my college search, I looked for a place that was as special as my high school. That school IS Vanderbilt.
Even though I joke about how I am too over-involved, it is because there are so many wonderful and amazing clubs and events that I want to be apart of. My professors are unbelievable here, and at Burroughs, I would go in and talk to my teachers even in my free periods, and here, I find myself emailing with my professors and chatting with them about things completely unrelated to school work. Burroughs was a family, I grew up there. Vanderbilt has those same qualities that I cherished about my high school, and even more.
After I finished my internship, I had to cram summer into 2 weeks. I went to the pool, played tennis with my brother, went out to dinner with my family at our favorite restaurants, and got ready to come back to school.
I responded to the trillions of emails that I have been ignoring and avoiding (sorry!!), and started planning for this year. I am the New Member Educator for Kappa Kappa Gamma, so I began planning the program and Bid Day in January, emailed with my advisor, and other Kappa officers. For Invisible Children, there is a Service Leaders Conference this coming Monday, so I had to decided if I wanted to lead one of the sessions or not- I decided against it, because as y’all know, I need to stop saying yes to everything. I’m the Team Mentorship Co-Chair for Relay For Life, so I had to send in my goals for that, and for Tour GuidingI needed to write down a bunch of dates for meetings and respond to emails about t-shirts and other such things. And then I had to blog. With my 8-5 schedule every day, I had very little free time, so blogging was one more thing that got neglected, but here I am now!!
Can’t wait to keep filling y’all in about my summer, and about the start of the school year!!!
