Summer Part I
Summer has been great so far. I left Vandy soon after classes ended and returned to my hometown of Auburn, Alabama. It was great to see old friends and share college experiences from our previous semesters at various schools. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing three weeks at home.
The last week of my time off before I came back to Vanderbilt to start a research position for the summer was a trip with my family to Chicago. Before trekking to the suburbs however, we decided to spend some time in the city. Chicago is hands down one of my favorite cities to visit.
While in Chicago, I also got a chance to visit two of my good friends from high school who attend Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois which is just 12 miles north of Chicago. During my visit to Northwestern, they were having their equivalent to the Rites of Spring Music Festival that is held each year at Vanderbilt University.
After making our way up the lake shore, we visited my extended family in the northern suburbs of Chicago. It was great to catch up with these family members for a couple of days. After Chicago, it was straight onto Vandy! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am currently a part of the SyBBURE program that is part of VIIBRE a large lab in the school of engineering. More to come soon!
