CWS Update

Posted by on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Athletics, General Information, Summer.

About 17 hours after the first pitch, a weather delay and finally, an overnight suspension of play, our Vanderbilt Commodores lost to the Florida Gators, by a score of 3-1, falling to 1-1 in the College World Series.Grayson Garvin pitched a great game, with the exception of giving up a three-run blast in the fourth inning. On offense, the Commodores only had four hits. Their only run came from Anthony Gomez’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

Next up, the Commodores will once again take on the UNC Tarheels in an elimination game. If the Commodores lose this, their run in Omaha will end. If they win, however, they will have another chance to face the Florida Gators.

Don’t forget to support our ‘Dores! They play tomorrow, Wednesday, at 7 pm!
