My Mini Vacation
After about three weeks of being home, I started having serious Vanderbilt withdrawals. It’s amazing how I adjusted so well to life at Vanderbilt and much trouble I am having re-adjusting to life at home. Lucky for me, my best friend and room mate, Glori, lives four hours away from me, so I decided to visit her this past weekend. My little trip to visit Glori was so nice. Not only did I get to enjoy the beautiful beaches on Florida’s Gulf Coast, but I also got to see Glori at home, in her element. I met her family and friends, and I can now put connect the names in her stories to faces. We ate at Glori’s favorite restaurants and shopped at her favorite stores. I had such a great weekend!
Vanderbilt is awesome because its student body comes from all over the country. Yes, Glori is also from Florida, but she comes from a small town. I, on the other hand, am a city girl. This time last year, if somebody would have told me that my best friend would be from a tiny town, I would have laughed. Who knew that a city girl and southern belle would have so much in common?
For now, I suppose that I have gotten my Vanderbilt fix. But I’m not sure I can handle three more months of this.
