Legos

A few weeks ago, while in NYC for the ICCA Finals with the Melodores, I visited a gigantic Toys R Us with a few of my current and alumni Melobros. As per my usual toy store method, I browsed everything but paid particular attention to the models section (for toy helicopters) and the Lego section (for Legos. Anything Legos). I ended up leaving New York with a small Lego set as my only souvenir and the intent to build it on the flight back to Nashville with my friend Richard.

I just get SO EXCITED!

Despite our plans and serendipitous side-by-side seating, however, we were prevented from completing the Lego set by an onset of drowsiness and takeoff turbulence (proof that an airplane is actually not the best place to play with tiny plastic pieces).

Despite the fact that the flight was enjoyable nonetheless, I returned home with a nagging sense of longing, as though there were something left to be completed. I tried to fill this hole in my heart with studying for finals and dress rehearsals for last week’s Melodores show, but to no avail. When I finally cleaned my room and rediscovered the Lego set, carefully wrapped and placed in my assault pack, all the pieces fell into place. When, though, would I dare to assemble the figures and their super-cool speeder bikes?

…After my Differential Equations final. T-minus 16.5 hours!
