It’s Over Already?
Freshman year is over. Yes, today I finished my final presentation and I no longer have any schoolwork for this semester. My mom has come to visit and help me pack, and by Friday I will be moved out of the beautiful Commons and en route back to sunshine-y Florida.
Allow me to get a little nostalgic and maybe a touch sentimental with you. It’s hard to believe how fast this year has gone, as you may have gathered from my fellow bloggers. My mom and I were discussing how glad we are that I chose Vanderbilt. It definitely feels like home now. I’m already looking forward to next semester, and I haven’t even left yet!
To those incoming freshman, get ready for an amazing year that will exceed your expectations. Yes, it sounds clichéd but it’s completely true. It’s hard to believe that my friends here at Vanderbilt are people I’ve only known since August or later—I feel like they’ve been with me my whole life, and I’m going to miss them dearly this summer.
However, the summer also holds lots of exciting opportunities (some of which I will hopefully be sharing with you all!). As I am wishing bittersweet goodbyes to everyone here at Vandy and preparing to leave Hank Ingram, I know that I won’t be away too long—and next year is sure to hold even more amazing opportunities!
