Melodores Featured on iPad, get 60,000 Hits on Video Overnight
As the headline says, the Melodores were recently featured in the iPad’s “Daily” News app. We were contacted for quotes by a writer that was in the audience at the ICCA Finals in New York City. The article, an acknowledgement to the ICCA Finals and collegiate a cappella, included quotes from many other top a cappella groups in the country…and even featured our Wildcard video that got us to Finals!
Needless to say, we are very grateful for all of the positive press we have been getting, as being a new group, it is always hard to get your name out there in the world.
On the subject of great exposure, a fellow Vanderbilt student posted our video of “How Low” by Ludacris on World Star Hip Hop.com and in just 24 hours, we have gotten over 62,000 views. I’m pretty sure this is the first a cappella video ever featured on WSHH.com, as the majority of the videos are of current or aspiring rappers/R&B singers. Hey, we will take what we can get! We founded this group on the principle that we would push the boundaries of a cappella…it looks like we are achieving our goal, little by little :)
