Froyo Addiction
I am in Baseball Glove Lounge, writing my HOD 1700 Literature Review Paper, and seriously craving froyo. So, as my study break, I will give you the lowdown on the best spots around Nashville. Good use of time, right?
Last year, there was only one place to get frozen yogurt- Yogurt Oasis (it’s on the CARD! We can use Commodore Cash or Meal Money through the Taste of Nashville program…$$$$). Located conveniently on West End right across from Greek Row, my friends and I went literally every Monday after chapter in the spring (at Vanderbilt, sororities and fraternities hold chapter meetings on Monday nights- and because we lived on Commons, and Yogurt Oasis was fairly far away, we had to take advantage of our proximity…). One of my best friends and I would make frequent stops there between classes… we were headed for the freshman 50. Or more. They also had vanilla and chocolate froyo in Rand and the Common Grounds munchie mart, which we took full advantage of…MmMmmmmMMm!
Now, we have Sweet Cece’s, with three locations right around campus– one in Hillsboro Village, Belle Meade and another in Green Hills. It is SOOO good. They have tart flavors and sweet flavors- I get a mix of all flavors, including cake batter, vanilla, and chocolate. Then I add hot fudge and granola. YUM!
We also have Yogi’s, which just opened this fall, and is right on West End Avenue, Pinkberry, which is also on West End (do you think they all realize that Vandy students love froyo………….) and the DELICIOUS froyo in the basement of Rand, at the Last Drop Coffee Shop (they held a contest to name this brand new coffee shop this year) The coffee shop has amazing toppings… I am frequently caught trying to steal more toppings or sneakily go back and get seconds and thirds of toppings.
They have granola, mini chocolate chips, mini gummi bears, mini M&M’s, Captain Crunch, vegan chocolate chips, and sprinkles. Along with those toppings, they also have strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and pineapple. And the best part is a froyo is a meal plan side!! They have 4 flavors- tart, vanilla, chocolate, and a flavor of the week. I like when they have red velvet. Now it’s time for my next study break……..a large chocolate and vanilla swirl froyo with all the toppings I can possibly fit into my cup………….
