Melodores at TPAC!
After a rough start to my morning, (I slept through my alarm and missed a test…guess there’s a first time for everything), things started to shape up. I got in touch with my professor and he was more than happy to let me come in a make it up!
I woke up and realized that I had 1 minute to throw my clothes on a catch the shuttle that would take the Melodores downtown to sing at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center‘s Andrew Jackson Hall to perform for the “Lunchbox Lectures.” Today’s edition featured a performance by the Melodores and a panel discussion about acappella music in between our sets.
We performed six songs for the audience and then relaxed while a few group members and our founder, Shane Stever, answered questions from the audience concerning the origins and evolution of acappella singing. The audience quite enjoyed our set! From Josh Turner to Billy Joel to Muse, there was something for each person.
They saw you never know who you are going to meet when you perform for an audience..and today we met some awesome guys that represent the Barbershop Harmony Society! We made some great connections with them and are looking forward to seeing what opportunities may arise!
