Memorial Madness
Tonight was the one-a-year basketball event, coined “Memorial Madness.” Students piled in Memorial Gym for the game against Ole Miss tonight…which we ultimately won. Yeaaa.
There were a lot of promotional events going on before and during the game – In addition to a big pep rally, Vanderbilt gave out free Jeffrey Taylor #44 jerseys to the first 500 people that showed up at the door. My friend got one. They are sweet. There was a big tug of war, an eating contest, player introductions, pizza, and a student had the chance to win 10,000 dollars by shooting a half court shot! Furthermore, the new football coach James Franklin was introduced to the student body. The guy has some serious charisma!
Lastly – my good friend from the Melodores, Nick Wells recently remixed Whiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” into Vanderbilt’s “Black and Gold.” It was so cool that we got it played at the basketball game tonight! Check it out here.
