Cafe Coco and “The Card”
Last night, my friends and I were pretty bored and hungry. We spent the day hanging out in our dorm because it was cold and gray outside. Sometimes, after a long week, the best way to spend a Saturday is to relax and bond with the girls. We didn’t want to go to the dining hall, not because the food in the Commons isn’t AWESOME, but because we wanted to get off campus and enjoy the “Taste of Nashville.”We ventured to Cafe Coco, which is located right behind West End Avenue and is walking distance from campus. Cafe Coco was delicious. The food was fresh and pretty healthy. The atmosphere was intimate, but not crowded, and the restaurant is open 24 hours a day! Even considering all of this, the best part about Cafe Coco is that is on the Vanderbilt Meal Plan. At the beginning of the semester, students are given Meal Money, which we can use in the dining halls and varsity markets on campus, as well as at over 25 locations off campus but within walking distance!
Vanderbilt definitely encourages students to get off campus and explore the city, and the Taste of Nashville program truly exemplifies this.
I’m sorry that I talk about food so much, but the food here is JUST SO GOOD.
