The Final Stretch

Posted by on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Academics, Athletics, College Life, Freshman Life.

I can’t believe that I have been at Vanderbilt for almost three months! Since my arrival on August 19, I have built a house with Habitat for Humanity, gone to some football and basketball games (GO DORES!), taken some tests, and even completed VUCEPT, or first-year orientation.Since my return from the Thanksgiving holiday last Sunday night, I have been studying and working almost non-stop. Though the past three months have been hectic, they almost seem insignificant in the face of my first round of college finals. I have three exams and two are on the same day, so I am trying to prepare early.

Through all of this, however, I am trying to stay grounded and remember to have fun. The school still has plenty of fun, and often holiday-themed, activities for us. Last night for example, I went to the Melodores concert. This new acapella group is one of the most talented group of guys I have ever seen. I could not even imagine a better study break! Other school-sponsored study breaks include the Mega Stress Fest and the Commons High Table. My Resident Advisor is also taking us ice skating this Friday night as a final floor celebration!

Happy Holidays and good luck on your final exams (or any type of end of the year tasks)!
