All is Good in the Melodores’ Hood
Just got back from a Melodores gig at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts Center. We were a hit! We were contacted to sing for a group of adults that are part of a continuing education program through Vanderbilt University. Many of the attendees were Vanderbilt grads, others were even current professors. They really enjoyed our set so much that we sold a great deal of CDs and even got a booking to sing at the Belle Meade Country Club this coming Tuesday! We made a lot of great connections with some enthusiastic alums and Nashville citizens!
In addition to very positive support, as I mentioned before, CDs were selling like hotcakes. One lady walked up and bought five of them and said “I have to put one of these in each of my grandkids stockings so they can hear how exceptional the music is at Vanderbilt…and try to kick start some thought about enrolling!” It was clear she was starting the college process early with her grandkids…a few of them weren’t even in middle school yet!
Needless to say – tonight was a great success. Exposure is the name of the game in the music industry, and I can definitely say I am getting a fair amount of it with all of the connections we have been making through Vanderbilt and the Nashville community.
