I Won a Drawing…Finally!
Here’s another example of the cool giveaways that Vanderbilt does from time to time. The other day I received an email from the Vanderbilt ITS department alerting us of the new opportunity to switch our email client from Gmail to Outlook Live for more storage etc. All we had to do was switch our email client to a new view for one week and we were automatically entered to win either a Zune HD or an XBox 360. With the luck that I normally have, I was pretty sure I didn’t have a chance in the world at actually winning something..but I had nothing to lose, so I switched over to the new email view for the week. No inconvenience at all – it was just a different way of reading my emails; I didn’t have to change my email address or anything.
Sure enough, the day after the drawing i received an email saying “Congratulations! Due to your participation in the Outlook Live email switchover, you have won a Zune HD!” Knowing my luck with random drawings, I wasn’t sure if it was a dream or whatnot, so I called the ITS office as I was instructed to do and sure enough they had me on their list of winners. I hopped over to their office complex at the Hill Center on the Commons and picked up my brand new..and FREE Zune HD. I have been having so much fun with this thing ever since. I feel like my girlfriend is only with me so she can play some of the games that I downloaded to it :)
