Back in Dorm Life..
I just got back to school yesterday evening. Took the 8.5 hr drive from NC with a friend of mine that is helping me move in for a couple days. As I have been allowed early move-in due to tour guide training in the week before school, hardly anybody else is here.
Read below to hear more about an empty campus
There are two people on my hall in Hemingway right now, my RA and a football player. Strolling around campus alone was quite the treat, so peaceful and serene. The campus is just as beautiful as always; I did, also feel a sense of camaraderie with the campus, as though campus was welcoming me back. It’s tough to describe the feeling, but I just wanted to express the overwhelming sense of comfort I got as soon as I got back.
Hemingway at Kissam Quad, my new dorm, is at the North Pole of campus essentially, but there are a lot of upsides. I brought my car this year and sophomore parking is literally right across the street from my dorm in the Terrace Place Parking Garage. Very convenient. Not to mention the restaurants that I can throw a rock to. TGI Friday’s, Qdoba, Jason’s Deli, Five Guys, Checkers and MANY others. Being close to food is always a treat. At any rate I am really anxious to see and absorb the energy of move-in activity. I am especially excited to meet all the new arrivals to Vanderbilt. If any of you are reading this, Welcome, and safe travels! See you all soon!
