December

Posted by on Friday, December 11, 2009 in College Life, General Information.

Well it’s become that time of year again… Strange things start happening around campus. My laundry is strictly t-shirts and gym shorts; people play Christmas music during breaks in long classes; you go to 3 sorority/fraternity formals in one weekend; and you start seeing a few less squirrels on campus. This time of year is called December. You have to fit formals, ends of classes, presentations, fun, exams, sleep, and “lasts” before next semester into 3 short weeks.

It’s a crazy few weeks that flies by, but it’s definitely worth it. It is all leading up to the second best semester of the year: spring semester. However, there really isn’t a bad season or time to be at Vanderbilt. All year long there is always something to keep you occupied and entertained. While studying is always a students’ first priority, we all need to have a little fun and down time now and then; and Nashville is the best place for that.

There is always something to do on and off campus. Almost every day there is a group on campus that is hosting a fundraiser or event complete with free food and entertainment by one of the many performing groups on campus. With Nashville being “Music City”, you can always find live music not far from campus, and even on campus, almost any night of the week.  Throughout the next semester I will share many of my stories and experiences about my life in and out of the classroom and I hope to give you all a better perspective on what life is like as a student at Vanderbilt University.
