I’m Back!
Hello readers! This post comes to you straight from Nashville, TN. Yes, I’m back, and I couldn’t be happier! My mom works at a school that starts this coming Wednesday but she also wanted to help me move in, so I was able to swing a few things and move-in early.
For the next couple of days, I’ll be moving in and exploring Nashville with my mom some more! Then on Thursday and Friday I have a leadership retreat with the BCM, and on Saturday I get to help move in some fantastic first-years, or firstlings as we seem to be calling them on the blog these days.
Today, after arriving in the late afternoon and checking into our hotel, my mom and I explored a bit. It was a little heart-wrenching to see that what was previously my home last year is now a construction zone, but I’m excited to see how the new Kissam College Halls turn out.
After that, my mom and I grabbed a light dinner at the Turnip Truck which is a natural market with a yummy selection of food in a really cool part of Nashville called The Gulch.
Then we drove around Vanderbilt a bit and went to the bookstore. As we later drove by the football field, we noticed the team practicing and that the gate to the field was open and people were watching. Now my mom hasn’t gotten to see a football game at Vandy yet, but loves Coach Franklin and is often more adventurous than I am, so we decided to go check it out.
We ended up walking on the field and watching the practice for a little bit. Vandy has done some awesome renovations and I can say first hand it looks amazing! Stay tuned for potential further adventures!
