What Time Is It? Summertime!
Yes, I did just reference High School Musical because I’m feeling nostalgic, even though I’ve only been away from Vandy for a few hours. My last exam ended at 9 pm yesterday, and I officially checked out of my room around 1 pm today :(
After the exam last night, my friends had a mini-sleepover. We camped out in my room, ordered chicken tenders, wings, and fries from Obie’s (which took a long time but was reallllly good), and watched 10 Things I Hate About You. Also, Aly brought her copy of The Newcomer, which is like a directory/yearbook the freshman received during orientation. It was amazing to see how many people we know now, and it was pretty funny to see what we had all said our major/interests were at the beginning of the school year.
When I was saying goodbyes today, I cried multiple times (no shame). My time here has been so much more fun and influential than I ever imagined. I’ve made some really great relationships, took interesting classes, and learned A TON. I understand what people mean when they say you learn a lot about yourself (and life in general) in college. I’ve definitely changed but I think in a good/growing-up kind of way. And I have Vanderbilt to thank for that.
Sorry for my attempt at being deep, I’m going to go catch up on my trashy tv shows now…haha. Have a great summer everyone!
