The Vanderbilt Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruits, selects, and enrolls students for the undergraduate programs at Vanderbilt University. We seek intellectually curious, academically talented students who will contribute to the campus life and the community beyond Vanderbilt.

    Doug Christiansen

    Douglas L. Christiansen, Ph.D.

    Douglas L. Christiansen holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration and is Vanderbilt University’s vice provost for university enrollment affairs, and dean of admissions and financial aid.  Christiansen is also an associate professor of public policy and higher education in the Department of Leadership, Policy and Organizations at Vanderbilt’s Peabody College.

    John Gaines

    As director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, John O. Gaines oversees the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of new undergraduate students at Vanderbilt. With over 32 years of college admissions experience, Gaines is a past chair and current board member for the Coalition for College.
