Updates from the Vanderbilt Office of Undergraduate Admissions
(Updated May 19, 2020)
We understand that families in many areas are dealing with the impacts of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). If your family has been impacted, please know that our thoughts are with you. Vanderbilt University officials are closely monitoring the situation, and you can see the latest updates at vu.edu/coronavirus.
Below are updates specific to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions:
All on-campus recruitment events are suspended through at least August 1.
This includes information sessions and campus tours, ‘Dore for a Day, organization group visits, and PreVU.
Virtual tour and other ways to connect:
While we are all disappointed that our visit programs must be cancelled, we are pleased to offer alternate ways to get to know our campus community:
- Online information sessions
- Virtual tour
- Vanderbilt on YouTube
- Online events for first-year students admitted to the Class of 2024
Application completion for transfer applicants:
While the priority deadline for submitting your transfer application was March 15, we continue to review applications until the transfer class is full. If you have difficulty submitting required materials by the published deadline, please contact your Vanderbilt admissions counselor. As is always our policy, we will be as flexible as possible regarding our deadlines, and we will work with you to help you complete your application. It is important to know that transfer admission decisions are released on a rolling basis beginning in late April, and will continue until the transfer class is full.
A message to future college applicants:
See our recent special message from the leaders of our office, John Gaines and Doug Christiansen.
As soon as we receive word from our campus leaders, we will once again open information sessions and other in-person on-campus events for registration via our visit page.
