Incompletes, ED2 & the Timekeeping Shrubbery

Posted by on Thursday, January 24, 2008 in Application Process, Early Decision, Nashville.

This morning we are sending out notifications to all students that as of this morning, are still missing pieces of their application. Don’t panic, simply work with your Vandy OUA counselor to get the materials in to us (who is that? Check out http://www.vanderbilt.edu/Admissions/applyCounselor.php). All of those crates of mail we showed you before have been diligently worked through and processed.

We are continuing to read early decision II and regular decision files. Committee for early decision II will start up here soon and we will be mailing ED2 decisions on Feb. 13.

Lore has it here at 2305 West End that you can tell it’s time to mail RD decisions when the ever-present flowering bush outside our office front door blooms. People talk about Springtime in Paris as having an irrepressible magnetism . . . well I have seen Spring in Paris, and I recommend Spring in Nashville. You feel it on that first real day of warm winds, mid-60’s, flip-flops, alumni lawn and a paperback. The ritual keeping of time in the winter involves that shrub, an office sentinel (we all walk right past it from the parking lots adjacent to West End Avenue). The buds aren’t there yet, but they will be as we near RD mailing day.

…and the ultimate rite of spring: Rites of Spring! Word around the fire is that there are some sweet bands coming to campus in mid April.

Thanks for the blog Thom, good shrub analogy.
You said that ED II decisions are mailed out on the 13th. Do overseas applicants get their decision by e-mail on the 13th also?
    Thanks!
