Plan a Campus Visit This Fall
Fall is a great time to visit Vanderbilt. Whether you’re just starting your college search or finalizing your list of where to apply, we have you covered with campus visit options. Check out the list below to find a visit program that’s right for you:
- Daily information session and campus tour. This one-hour presentation and 90-minute tour is like Vanderbilt 101. It’s a perfect place to start to get to know Vanderbilt and our admissions process. In the historic Old Gym, a Vanderbilt admissions counselor will discuss academics, campus life, financial aid, life in Nashville, how we evaluate applications, and more. After the info session, a student tour guide will lead you on a walk through (a portion of) Vanderbilt’s 330-acre campus, including a visit to The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons and a look inside a residence hall room.
- ‘Dore for a Day. This half-day visit program lets you shadow a current student in order to give you an inside look at what it’s like to be a Commodore. At 1:00 p.m., you meet your student host at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and the two of you share lunch (included in the program) at one of campus’s many dining spots. Then it’s off to a class and hanging out on campus before the program ends at 4:00 p.m. ‘Dore for a Day is designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors (and admitted and waitlisted students in the spring). We also offer Global ‘Dore for a Day, designed for international prospective students.
- Visiting Class. Want a deeper look into Vanderbilt academics? Maybe you’d like to check out a course in your prospective major or see what a college seminar is like. Whatever your academic interests, you can visit a class in any of Vanderbilt’s four undergraduate colleges. Some of the courses on offer this fall include Developmental Psychology, American Enterprise, Neuroscience, the Underground Railroad, the Syntax of Music, Introductory Biomechanics, and more. See the full list for each college on our class visits page.
- Vanderbilt Virtual Tour. If you can’t fit a physical campus visit into your plans, you can still experience campus with a virtual tour. With student tour guides, photos, videos, and more, this interactive virtual tour is the next best thing to being here.
And don’t forget to plan some time to explore Nashville. Our hometown has been named as one of the top 10 destinations in the world by Lonely Planet in their Best in Travel 2016 and the #1 International destination by TripAdvisor. Come visit – we can’t wait to see you!
