Meet Thom Golden

Posted by on Friday, October 8, 2010 in Admissions Committee, Balance.

My  hometown is Snellville, GA by way of Nashville, TN.

I am the admissions counselor responsible for the areas of Chicago, Mexico & the Caribbean.

In the office I lead the undergraduate student recruitment and outreach efforts for the university.

Acorn is my favorite place to eat in Nashville.

The best music event I attended here in the city was the Nashville symphony orchestra performing on the Peabody lawn with a picnic basket and family on a spring night.  Perfection.

On a Saturday you’re most likely to find me bouncing around between sports practices, pools, and other kids activities only to collapse in the hammock on my back porch.

Fido (no question) is the best coffee shop here in town.

I most frequently fly American Airlines in/out of Nashville.

The steps of Wyatt Rotunda are my favorite place on campus, it simply doesn’t get more classic Vandy than that.

The wood-fired bbq chicken pizza is the best dish at the Commons.

The 12th South neighborhood is a hidden gem in Nashville.  From Mafiaozas pizza, Corrieri’s Formmageria cheese shop, to Las Palatas Mexican popsicles (an OUA staple). The whole area is funky, eclectic and entirely for the locals.
