Check Check 1 2 3
Mailing week has officially begun at 2305 West End. At this stage it’s a lot of checking and proofreading. We check to make sure that your name is spelled correctly and your street address is correct to make sure that your letter doesn’t find its way into the postal version of the Bermuda triangle.
We also check decisions. At this point nearly all of the applications have a tentative decision on them (marked with the red tags in the photos). I say tentative because until the letters physically leave our office later this week a decision can change. After we check the decisions, we then check the letters to make sure that you don’t get another person’s letter.
It’s a lot of manual work, late nights, and delivered pizza. It’s also a lot of details most people don’t think about when it comes to admissions work. There’s a building excitement amongst the staff of almost being done and watching the letters drive off in the mail truck later this week.

Finally! And yet again first one to comment! Nice blogging, Thom! It is a relief for both of us. You will have a lesser work and I will not struggle to wait.
Also here is some important facts that Brad posted on CC.

Just wondering, but does it say minority on the folder with red on the edge in the photo where the woman is looking through the folders?
Is that just a way of sorting the applications?

Chicka’s got it right, it says “Priority.” Those are bins of admit packets, which are sent priority mail.

Brad, I read somewhere that Vanderbilt sends out decision emails on Friday or Monday. Are these emails for all applicants or only for international applicants?

I’m sorry, I meant Thom!

Have you mailed them out yet?

We send emails to students attending high schools overseas. Those will go out tomorrow or Monday.
