Where are you from?

Owensboro, Kentucky

Which Admissions office programs are you involved in?

I oversee all the admissions officers and the operations staff who comprise the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Vanderbilt. They're a diverse and enthusiastic group, which makes my job both a challenge and immensely rewarding. We are responsible collectively for the recruitment, evaluation and selection processes for the four undergraduate schools at Vanderbilt.

What’s your favorite memory of being a Counselor?

My favorite memories revolve around the times - usually at the end of recruitment programs on campus - when I am SO tired from delivering a great visitor experience, yet so fulfilled that people are leaving campus having had a great time and having learned more about what makes VU special.

What is your favorite Vanderbilt tradition?

I love the spirit that is evident during the Anchor Dash at the beginning of the first home football game each year. Seeing all of the new students on the field really makes me proud to be part of the ongoing traditions of Vanderbilt!

What hobby do you wish you had more time for?

Travel for pleasure - not for work!

What did you study in college?

I was a psychology major with a business administration minor, then got a Master's degree in Student Personnel Services

What’s the best concert you’ve seen in Nashville?

It's been a couple of years ago now - but Billy Joel/Elton John put on a great show at the Bridgestone Arena!

What is the moment you knew you were a Nashvillian?

When I decided I really liked Hot Chicken - you HAVE to try it!

Do you have pets?

One - a yellow lab named The Captain.

What’s your favorite off-campus hangout?

Anywhere in downtown Franklin - love the small town feel and the excitement of Main Street.

What is your favorite place to eat in Nashville?

Right now, I really like Hattie B's!

If you weren't an admissions counselor, what would you be?

I like to think I'd be a city planner or an urban planner - but I'd probably be an attorney!
