Vanderbilt Expands Opportunity Vanderbilt Financial Aid Program

E. Bronson Ingram Residential CollegesWe’re excited to announce that Vanderbilt is expanding our Opportunity Vanderbilt financial aid program to provide tuition-free scholarships to students from families with incomes of $200,000 or less, up from our previous threshold of $150,000. The expansion will take effect for current students in fall 2027 and for new undergraduates entering in fall 2027, including students who are applying this fall.

As before, many households with incomes of less than this threshold will typically receive aid greater than full tuition to also support housing, food, and other expenses. Many households above the threshold also receive aid.

At Vanderbilt, we believe cost should never be a barrier to a world-class education. Opportunity Vanderbilt makes it happen. Our strong commitment to affordability means that 64% of students at Vanderbilt receive some kind of financial assistance and our average financial aid package among students with demonstrated financial need is $79,177.

In addition to need-based financial aid, Vanderbilt offers merit scholarships to applicants who demonstrate exceptional accomplishment and intellectual promise. Each year, Vanderbilt awards over 225 scholarships that cover full tuition plus a summer stipend for study abroad, research or service projects.
