How to Get Exercise Without Setting Foot in the Gym

Oct. 28, 2014—Don’t get me wrong: the Student Rec Center here at Vanderbilt is great. With the swipe of your Commodore Card, you get free access to an indoor track, a basketball court, more treadmills and weight machines than I can count, and even a couple of rooms for racquetball that I’m dying to try out. And...

A Weekend to End All Weekends

Oct. 21, 2014—A prominent 20th century philosopher once said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get". It's also pretty sweet. This weekend, though extraordinary, was not out of the ordinary. Every weekend takes me along for an unexpected ride, one that always manages to showcase many of the diverse facets of Vandy life. Join me as we experience the sights and sounds that this one particular trip took me through.

Rising from the Ashes

Sep. 14, 2014—Last night, the Vanderbilt Commodores rose from a slumber and rose from the ashes… like a majestic phoenix. The past two weeks have been tough. Back to back blowout losses with no light at the end of the tunnel. The future looked dark, with no quarterback to lead us to victory. But then, from the...

Soccer Senior Send-off

May. 6, 2014—As the year wound (winds? I refused to admit it's over.) down, most of the organizations I'm involved in on campus held various activities in order to "send off" the seniors. Now, part of me refused to acknowledge that this included ME (wow, gee wiz, golly wolly, etc.), but that went out the window the second I got the invite for the senior send-off for the club soccer team.

The End of an Era

Apr. 18, 2014—Last Night, our Intramural Team played in our last game of the season and called an end to a great intramural season as we said goodbye to our graduating seniors. To most, Intramural sports is just an extracurricular activity that they partake in if they have time during their busy Vanderbilt schedule. BUT, to our...

Its Spring Time

Apr. 14, 2014—There is only one proper way to know if it truly is Spring time and it doesn't involve staring at a Grounhog to know when its time. No, there's a much better way. Spring Football. Obviously, if there is an event called SPRING football, it must signify that it is Spring time. This past weekend, we officially started Spring.
