Spring Break and Virginia Indians

Mar. 9, 2014—For spring break this year, I had the opportunity to spend a week at the Monacan tribal center in Amherst, Virginia. The Monacan Indians are an eastern woodlands Siouxan tribe, and today they live around Bear Mountain. "We're here to help spread the knowledge that the Monacans and the other Indian nations are still alive and trying to preserve their culture. We can help educate those around us."

It’s a Small World After All

Jul. 26, 2013—This summer I was lucky enough to go on vacation with my sister Jackie, in honor of her graduation. We went to Ios, Greece and had an awesome time! I hate the actual act of traveling, but I love visiting other places. I love experiencing the culture, eating the food, meeting new people, and making fun memories. After the trip, I thought about how enriching it was to travel somewhere else and grow as a person. These feeling reminded me of the excitement other students described when they studied abroad.
