Keeping in Touch with Friends Back Home

Posted by on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in College Life, Fall Break, Family, Spring Break, Student Life, Summer, Winter Break.

The absolute best part about breaks is being able to go home and spend time with all of my friends that I grew up with. I remember when I first got into Vanderbilt, I was really worried about how I would maintain all of my friendships in Ohio. And yeah, I know we have texting, and facetime, and snapchat and all that fun stuff, but nothing really quite compares to spending time together in person. And it’s hard! College is busy and between talking to my family and trying to spend time with the friends I’ve made here on campus, it’s hard to find time to stay in constant contact with my friends back home. But I think it’s important to remember that this is okay. They’re also busy and they’re also trying to juggle just as much stuff as you are. Even though you guys may not talk every minute of every day like you used to, the friendship will last, I promise. I’ve found that every time we all come home, it’s like we never left! The friendship is just as strong, and conversation is quick and easy.

My very best friends Jessica and Kasey!

It’s always so much fun when we finally all get together again. We all have so much to share with each other and we can sit and talk for hours! Especially freshman year. Everyone is so excited about all of the things they’ve done on campus, all the friends they’ve made, and all the fun things there are to do in whatever city or town they go to school in. I love hearing about all of my friend’s successes in school and we can all bond over similar failures. There’s really no better feeling than knowing that the ones you love are off being happy and doing great things!

This post was really just an excuse to shout out how much I miss my friends back home and to show them off a little bit!

Love you guys, can’t wait to see you again soon.
