Rand Holiday Party

Posted by on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in General Information.

Although I was not fortunate enough to attend the Grammy Nominations (wow I am so jealous), tonight was still a great night for me! Why? It was Rand’s annual holiday party!!! As you can tell from my last post, I am into the whole food thing. So obviously this was something I had to attend. I did not get to attend the dinner last December, but I did get to attend the big dinner in the spring “SSRAND“. Ever since then, I have vowed never to miss these end of the semester celebration for my rest of my time here at Vandy. My friends and I wanted to avoid the long line to actually get into the dinner, so we decided to go at 7:15. This was such a great decision, because when I walked by Rand at 4:30 the line was backed into Sarratt Cinema. Crazy, right? But when we came later that evening, there was no line at all and plenty of tables to sit. Rand also was decorated for the theme of “Rocky Mountain” (not really sure what they were trying to achieve with this but okay). Essentially it was decorated like winter, which made it look really nice! The live jazz band did not hurt at all either. I truly felt like I was not at my dining hall but instead a restaurant.

The line at 4:30 to sarratt cinema. I told you this thing is serious.

The dinner was great, and I wish I snapped a picture of my 2, yes 2, plates of food, but I totally forgot. I had a great salad, vegetable stew, vegetable stifry, pizza, mac and cheese, etc. etc, etc. way to much food. Although I did not have any, there was also great pork, ham, steak, and a whole bunch of meat platters that my friends seemed to enjoy! There was also hot coco, cider, and even “butter beer” (shout out to all of my Harry Potter fans yo). The best part however, was all of the wonderful desserts. There was carrot cake, candy, little pies, chocholate cake, vanilla cake, more cake, cake on cake on cake on cake, cookies, brownies, etc. etc. etc. wow. While it was no Grammy Nominations ceromony, it was certainly a dinner filled with great food and great fun. I can’t wait for my last holiday rand party next december.

I did get a picture of dessert!
