Dinner in the U.K.!

Last Wednesday, I ate dinner in the United Kingdom…without having to leave Vanderbilt campus.

Vanderbilt has several fun dining events each semester, and Wednesday’s was called the S.S. Rand—where our very own Rand dining center was given a makeover to look like the U.K. and served a variety of delicious foods native to the U.K. The concept behind the event is that Rand is bringing the “culture and cuisine of a port country” to Vanderbilt.

The food was all buffet style and there were a ton of different stations including fish and chips, braised lamb, several varieties of fruit and cheese, and a tearoom filled with desserts and scones. My friends and I got there early so the line wasn’t too long—and the entire buffet was just one swipe on meal plan!

Rand had been decorated to match the theme, and there was live music throughout the evening. I managed to snap a few pictures at the event, and the first one is my friend Caitlyn and I after enjoying our delicious feast.
