When looking at colleges, I was looking for a place that felt like home. I loved Tampa, but I never felt like I had found my place there. At my high school, everyone was either very socially-minded or very academically-minded, and there was little to no cross-over between the two types of people. This caused me to feel like had never really found my niche because I had always been a hybrid of both, and I yearned to find a place where I could be both and find others who are the same way. When I visited Vanderbilt, I found that. The people I met were driven, outgoing, and happy to be at Vanderbilt, and it was what I had always been looking for. I came to Vanderbilt to be myself. I love it with every fiber of my being, and if you ask anyone on campus they will tell you the same thing.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
My absolute favorite organization that I am a part of is VandyRadio. I have always loved to find new music and share it with others, so to be able to do so on a weekly basis on my show has been not only rewarding but also super fun.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
My favorite class at Vanderbilt thus far was Developmental Psychology. I have always loved kids, so I absolutely loved learning about how they grow and develop. I really enjoyed that class, and it inspired me to take on my second major, Child Development.
