Hi, I’m Sami and I’m pretty terrible at coming up with witty things to say in the introduction to my bio so we’ll just skip over this part. Cool? Cool.
I’m a first year at Vanderbilt majoring in either Education or Cognitive Studies. I’m thinking about adding a major in Computer Science, but who even really knows. I’m also a proud resident of Memorial House, also known as the literal best house on Commons. Like, not figuratively. Literally. I’m pretty sure most of my housemates think I’m weird though because I spend a disproportionate amount of time in the common room. My bad.
I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. It’s pretty cool I guess. Just kidding, it’s actually my favorite place in the whole world. Actually, second favorite. My favorite place is Target. Yes, as in the store. But anyway. As you might imagine, coming to the South was a bit of a shock for me, but Nashville really is the place to be. If you live within a ten mile radius of campus, you will probably hear me screaming when the leaves start to change color, and then again if/when it snows. Please don’t be alarmed.
In my free time, I enjoy playing softball, talking at absurdly fast speeds, and watching old episodes of Glee and How I Met Your Mother because I don’t like finding new TV shows. So far, in addition to joining the lovely and amazing Inside ‘Dores team, I am involved in VandyApps, which is our programming club, and Begin with Books, a volunteer organization where we help local kids improve their reading.
So basically that’s me. If you didn’t pick this up, I love talking to people, so please, please, please send me emails at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am so excited to answer any questions you might have about being a student at Vanderbilt, and also getting emails makes me feel really cool so there’s that. Hope to talk with you guys soon!
