Why Vanderbilt?

My life is centered around balance. Throughout my college search, it was apparent that Vanderbilt could offer that balance I so desperately wanted in college. After a year here, I can tell my assumption was right. I am able to balance involvement, a social life, and classes due to this amazing university and its wonderful students and faculty.

List a few of your activities. Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.

Vanderbilt Student Government  Vanderbilt Programming Board's Speakers Committee  Resident Advisor on the Ingram Commons  Honor Council      I really enjoy Speakers Committee because I have met some people who I would have never thought I would encounter. From casually chatting with Ellie Kemper from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, to listening to a former New York mayor talk about his job, it is an activity that I will never get tired of!

Describe a favorite class and why you like it.

I really enjoyed my first-year writing seminar last year. Its focus was on the Affordable Care Act, and it was really interesting learning all the information and potential implications about such an important and controversial piece of legislation.

Describe your experience becoming a part of the Vanderbilt community.

It has truly been the best experience of my life thus far. From move in day my first year, to move in day this year as my first year as an RA, I can say Vanderbilt has helped me transform in the most amazing way possible.
