Why Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt checked off everything on my college wish list. It was on the smaller side but still part of the SEC with sports. It had a great engineering school that supports their students studying abroad. It was located in the middle of a growing city and offered lots of connections post graduation.

Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it (2-3 sentences).
I love being a part of the Society of Women Engineers. Being a woman in stem is hard, but this group strives to make it easier for women in the school of engineering. They offer workshops and lectures by women or other people already working in stem fields. I never feel like a minority as a women in stem because of this group.

Describe a favorite class and why you like it (2-3 sentences).
I really enjoyed my first computer science course here at Vanderbilt. I had never taken any computer science classes and was nervous at first, but the professor was extremely helpful and the other students supported each other throughout the class. I ultimately decided to minor in computer science because of my experience in this class.

Describe your most memorable Nashville/off-campus experience.
I traveled to the Smokey Mountains in East Tennessee over fall break and went backpacking and hiking for four days. The fall colors were magical and the crisp October air was extremely refreshing. I love exploring the nature around campus and this part of the country.

List some of your favorite books, movies, TV shows, or musical artists.
I love any and all sports movies like Remember the Titans or The Blind Side. I will always always watch Survivor and Big Brother and basically any other reality game show. My favorite book is Montana 1948.
