I chose Vanderbilt because of the university's emphasis on work-life balance. I wanted my college experience to not only be shaped by rigorous, challenging academics but also involvement in a variety of student organizations and a vibrant and exciting social life. Vanderbilt was the only place that checked all those boxes for me, and I could not be happier with my decision.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
My favorite organization is Dance Marathon because of the tangible impact I see from my work and the strong sense of family we have in DM. Our organization benefits the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital, which is in Vanderbilt's medical center. It is a privilege to help those children and families in need at the hospital but also to be part of such a special family on campus.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
My favorite class is U.S. Elections, because I have always been extremely passionate about politics. The class is taught by four extremely knowledgeable professors who fascinate me every day. I also enjoy being surrounded by students in that class who share my love of politics.
